A Dr. File Finder Favorite -- bPhone for BlackBerry
I was looking around for some software for my BlackBerry 8830 not
long ago when I stumbled across a cool theme. bPhone is a
theme created by Matthew Rogers for the BlackBerry that was inspired by
the iPhone. I've tried a number of themes and was never satisfied
with them, but bPhone is really something. The icons are really
well done and taken directly from the iPhone.
The fonts in the theme are easy-to-read which is something I've had
problems with in other themes. It also uses a lot of blue and gray
throughout the interface which makes the theme easy on the eyes. I have
to say that Mr. Rogers really nailed the "look" of the iPhone
with this theme. The banner that goes across the top is dead on and
makes me feel like I'm looking at an iPhone commercial. Everything is
very easy-to-use and intuitive. The theme is available to download for a
desktop install or you can also do and over-the-air (OTA)
install, which is what I opted for. Once you've installed the theme you
need to totally reboot your BlackBerry by removing the battery and then
reinserting it. As I mentioned, I've looked at lots of themes for
the BlackBerry 8830, but this is the first one I've been really
happy with. It's free, but I hope that if you use it you take a moment
to make a donation - I did. I like it so much that it's not only
a Pick, but I'm also making it a Dr. File Finder Favorite and
those are few and far between. So, if you're looking for an iPhone theme
for your BlackBerry, look no further. bPhone is beautifully done
and I recommend it.
